Removing the Network Listener for MSSQL Server

Configuring without the Enterprise Manager GUI:

1) Run the SVRNETCN.EXE utility located in the Binn directory of your MSDE installation (location varies by installation - use the Windows FIND utility to locate it).

2) Select the TCP/IP service and click on the Remove button

 

 

Via the Enterprise Manager GUI (installed from the MSSQL Server CD)

1) Open the Enterprise Manager
     Start Menu\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\Enterprise Manager

2) Right click on the SQL server instance
     

 

3) Click on the Network Configuration button

 

4) Select the TCP/IP name from the Enabled Protocols and click on the Disable button
